Nadia and Carol
Nadia Comaneci was born on December 12, 1961 in Gheorghe Gheorghiu Dej (now Onesti), Romania. Nadia is the Romanian Olympic gymnast. She holds the record for being given 10/10 points at an Olympic competition. Comaneci was first discovered by Bela Karolyi who was later her Romanian gymnastics instructor when she was six years old. The first time she competed was at The National Junior Championships in which she finished 13th in 1969. In 1970, she was crowned champion. In 1972, during a meet of communist countries junior athletes before the Olympics she took home 3 gold and silver medals. Then in 1973 and 1974, she became the junior champion in all aspects. In her very first competition in senior level, Lyudmila Turkishcheva of Russia won five gold medals as well being awarded a silver. She won the American Cup in New York City in 1976 and became the first woman in history to complete the backward double salto in dismounting from the uneven bars that are parallel. Carol Wayne.........................Carol Wayne was an American film and TV actor best recognized for portraying Art Fern's Tea-Time Movie Lady on The Tonight Show Starring Johnny Carson. Her career in the world of entertainment began in her teens, when she began skating figure with her younger twin sister Nina Wayne as part of the shows that traveled around known as Ice Capades. Carol Marie Wayne was a born on the 6th day of September 1942 in Chicago Illinois. Carol was a part of the entertainment business as a teenager. She began her professional career by performing figure skating along with Nina Wayne, her younger sister as part of traveling entertainment show Ice Capades. The show featured stage-moving ice-skating shows.
